The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has announced that the Disciplinary Commission has denied the request for a lifting of the suspension filed by the UCI Professional Continental Team Androni Giocattolli-Sidermec in accordance with article 7.12.1 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules (ADR).
Androni riders Fabio Taborre and Davide Appollonio both tested positive in June. In accordance with new UCI rules, a second Adverse Analytical Finding within a twelve-month period, the team was suspended for a period of 30 days from 1st to 30 August 2015. The team duly served its suspension but still launched an official complaint. The Disciplinary Commission has decided to deny the request of a lifting of the suspension.
The team has taken legal action against Taborre and Appollonio who have both been sacked.
