After missing today's World Cup race in Koksijde due to illness, Lars van der Haar will take the start in tomorrow's Superprestige race in Francorchamps. However, the Dutchman is unsure about his chances of defending his top position in the overall standings.
Lars van der Haar lost his overall lead in the World Cup when illness prevented him from starting today's World Cup race in Koksijde. Yesterday his participation in tomorrow's Superprestige race in Francorchamps was also uncertain but now the Dutchman confirms that he has recovered sufficiently to be at the start.
"Discission made. After 2 tests on bike today, I'll try to start tomorrow. Maybe defend GC, maybe not. Go in blanco! SP Spa-Francoshamps," he wrote on Twitter.
Van der Haar currently sits in third place in the overall standings, 3 points behind leader Sven Nys.
