According to Het Nieuwsblad, despite some interest from several other WorldTour teams, Omega Pharma – Quick Step rider Stijn Vandenbergh is about to extend his contract with the Belgian squad for two more years.
Tall Vandenbergh, praised as an important part of the Omega Pharma-Quick Step unit for spring classics, enjoyed a good spring season highlighted by top five sport claimed in Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne, E3 Harelbeke and most importantly Ronde van Vlaanderen. Thus, despite reported interest expressed by Trek Factory Racing in signing the 30-year old Belgian, it is almost certain that he will extend a contract with his current team for two more seasons.
