In 2015, the Vuelta a Espana will again start in the southern part of the country. Today the organizers announced that the stage will be held in Puerto Banus near Marbella.
Race director Javier Guillen revealed that the riders will go around Puerto Banus in a counterclockwise direction.
"We have decided that the first stage is a time trial but it is still not known whether it will be a team time trial or an individual time trial."
The rest of the course will be unveiled on January 10.
This year, the race kicked off with a team time trial in Jerez de la Frontera which is just around 175km from Puerto Banus.
