The route of the Tour of Spain 2014 has been officially launched in Cadiz and again the race is filled with mountains, with eight summit finishes.The race starts on August 23 in Jerez and ends on the 14 September in Santiago de Compostela.

 
The summit finishes are: Green Mountain in La Zubia (6th) , Valdelinares (9th ), San Miguel de Aralar (11th) , The Camperona (14th) , Lagos de Covadonga (15th) , Lagos Somiedo The Farrapona (16th ) , Monte Castrove (18th) and Ancares (20th) . La Zubia, Santuario de San Miguel de Aralar , La Monte Castrove Camperona and are new climbs . With three time trials , the inaugural team trial (stage 1), the last stage and the Zaragona TT , there are only 5 opportunites for sprints: San Fernando , Ronda, Albacete , Logroño and La Coruna .
 
The teams will travel through Andalusia in the first week with the inaugural team time trial and the  tough finish on Green Mountain
 
It is the key second week that will do the damage, like that of Tarazona in 2013 , for the next day to reach the top of cement road San Miguel de Aralar demanding Zaragoza is presented . The tough slopes of the  Camperona (the last three kilometers have ramps to 24%) , with the port of San Gloria appetizer , Lagos de Covadonga and kick in the Farrapona definitely the queen stage of the 2014 race with five climbs in 158 kilometers : Colladona , Cordal , and San Lorenzo Cobertoria before the final arrival.
 
The last five stages will be in Galicia, with two tough stages to take into account, Monte Castrove ( to be climbed twice, 5 kilometers with slopes of 12%) and especially Ancares with Folgueiras Aigas before. And watch the 19th stage with high Monta da Groba ( Horner won in 2013) and Morrazo , just 20 kilometers from the finish . The final stage is a 10km TT.
