The information was revealed by the delegate to economy of the Castilla-La Mancha region, Patricia Franco. Yesterday, she revealed that the next edition of the Vuelta will make a passage through the town of Cuenca in the province. Further details about the visit have not been announced as it is still under discussion whether it will be a stage start or finish.
Considered one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Spain, Cuenca is located in part on a rocky hill overlooking the Jucar river. Traditionally, it has allowed the sprinters and puncheurs to shine. The last winner is David Millar, who dominated a time trial of 33 kilometers in 2006. Before that, Samuel Sanchez, Thor Hushovd, Erik Zabel and Filippo Simeoni have won in the city.
