The Tour du Haut Var-Matin (2.1, France) which will be held from February 20- 21, will have 20 teams on the start line, including ten from the WorldTour.
AG2R La Mondiale, FDJ, Etixx-QuickStep, Cannondale, BMC Racing Team, IAM Cycling, Lampre-Merida, Movistar Team, Team Giant-Alpecin, Team Katusha will be the WorldTour teams in the French race. Cofidis Crédits Solutions, Delko Marseille-Provence KTM, Direct Energie, Fortuneo-Vital Concept, Wanty-Groupe Gobert come from the Professional Continental category and Armee de Terre, HP BTP-Auber 93, Roubaix-Lille Métropole, Vérandas Willems and Wallonie-Bruxelles are the Continental teams. The list has been revealed by Directvelo.
The two stages have a medium-mountain profile. The first includes Col de Blavet (2nd) at km 56 and 133. The second stage will include five climbs, with the Col des Tuilières summiting at kilometer 192.

In 2015 the victory went to Ben Gastauer (AG2R) ahead of Philippe Gilbert and Jonathan Hivert. In 2014, Carlos Betancur beat Samuel Dumoulin and Amael Moinard; Arthur Vichot won in 2013, Jonathan Tiernan Locke in 2012, Thomas Voeckler in 2011 and 2009, Christophe Le Mevel in 2010, Davide Rebellin in 2008 and Filippo Pozzato in 2007. The French race has been held over two days since 2009. Before that year, it was a one-day race.
