Grischa Janorschke can look back on a successful season. The 28-year-old achieved numerous top results in the Vorarlberg jersey and also proved to be a good domestique in races like the Tour of Austria and Flèche du Sud where teammate Victor de la Parte took the overall wins.
"The only thing that was missing, was a personal victory," Janorschke told radsport-news.com. He was close on the final stage of Paris-Arras (2.2), where he finished second. But a fourth place in a stage at the Tour of Austria, a sixth place at the Horizon Par Race in Kiev and seventh at Velothon Stockholm were also solid results."Those were also highlights for me, even though I would have liked to be even better placed on one of these days," the sprinter said.
Janorschke was unfortunate in the 6th stage of the Tour of Austria, where he was part of a breakaway trio that looked promising until shortly before the finish. "While Luke Pöstlberger and I were caught, our break companion Johann van Zyl managed to take the win. He played the game better than us and saved a bit more energy," he said.
But even without winning, Janorschke earned a contract with a pro continental team. The Swiss Roth-Skoda team which will be in the second tier in 2016, have secured themselves the services of the experienced German who will return to the higher level after three years in the continental ranks. In 2012 Janorschke already spent a year with the German NetApp team but he was hampered by several injuries.
He hopes for a better experience with Roth-Skoda. "I hope to get new stimuli from the environment and hope to once again make a step forward and achieve some nice results for me, the team and the sponsors," said Janorschke whose first impression of his new employer is very positive.
"We had the first team meeting in Switzerland and they are working very professionally in all areas. With custom-made shoes to individually compiled fitness exercises, they are focusing on all the details. We even had a biomechanic and an osteopath there," he said.
