Dwars door West-Vlaanderen, the successor of the Three Days of West Flanders, will bepart of the Napoleon Games Cycling Cup in 2017, according to Belga .
"The issue of joining the project of Napoleon Games Cycling Cup was raised. After a positive and constructive mutual dialogie, both parties quickly reached an agreement. Dwars door West-Vlaanderen will therefore join the project, which will be broadcast on VTM," said organizer Rik Goethals.
The course for Dwars door West-Vlaanderen Johan Museeuw Classics will cover 203 kilometers and is a copy of the final stage of the Three Days of West Flanders.
"Starting for our race is and remains the Fish Market in Nieuwpoort. From there we will do a loop through Middelkerke and Gistel, a nod to the 'Godfather' of our race, Johan Museeuw, to pass through Ichtegem for the first time.
"Via Diksmuide we will then go to Ypres and then head into the Heuvelland with the climbs of Goeberg, Rodeberg, Monteberg, Kemmelberg and Scherpenberg. From Poperinge we will go back to Ichtegem, where there will be for four local laps of 13km after 151 kilometers, each containing two cobbled sections and the passage of the Keiberg.”
The 1.1 race will be held on Sunday, March 5.
