Team Europcar won't be part of the WorldTour in 2015 after the team was unable to meet the financial criteria. Two days ago the License Commission rejected Jean-Rene Bernaudeau's French team that is led by Thomas Voeckler, Pierre Rolland and Bryan Coquard.
Jean-Rene Bernaudeau regrets the decision. "Our dossier was serious and complete. We lacked 5% of our budget, " he told L'Equipe . "This is a great frustration for the whole team who deserved to be in the WorldTour. We don't deserve to be denied due to a money problem."
The French team must now submit a new dossier to compete as a pro continental team.
Europcar has announced that they will end their sponsorship at the end of 2015. Voeckler, Rolland, Romain Sicard and Coquard are the main riders in the team that has signed young riders Thomas Boudat (1994), Julien Morice (1991) and Guillaume Thevenot (1993).
