Ag2r-La Mondiale may be the best French team but they didn't have any success in the GP La Marseillaise, the first French race of the season. With no in-form sprinter in the roster, the team had to settle for 37th with Romain Bardet.
"It's a frustrating race where we would like to have had an in-form sprinter," sports director Stephane Goubert said. "That is not the case for Lloyd Mondory after all the problems he has had since August or Maxime Daniel who had 15 days without the bike earlier this year. It was an aggressive race with our youngsters Pierre-Roger Latour and Alexis Gougeard and with Hugo Houle and Hubert Dupont. Then Romain Bardet and Mikael Cherel tried but it was not a race for them. The goal was to be offensive and have fun on the bike. We achieved that objective and we will soon see a team that is similar to the one that was known in 2014."
