Ag2r has announced that they have signed IAM leader Mathias Frank on a two-year contract
"I am very pleased to have signed for two years with AG2R La Mondiale," he said. "This will be my first experience in a French team. I will find a role that suits me: to be supporting our leader Romain Bardet in some races. I already played this role for Tejay Van Garderen in the past and I like it. I know I can also play my personal card. The Tour de Romandie and the Tour of Switzerland are particularly close to my heart!"
Manager Vincent Lavenu explained why he has signed the IAM captain.
"Mathias is a great rider for stage races. He will be there to support Romain (Bardet) in the mountains, but he will also have a role as co-leader at some events. He has a very high level and his arrival is a significant reinforcement for the team. "
