One day after announcing the signing of Mathias Frank, Ag2r have signed a contract with Sondre Holst Enger.
"I'll start a new adventure with AG2R La Mondiale," he said. "I'm happy to join this team with a good fighting spirit as we have seen during the last Tour de France. I am only 22 years old and I hope to continue to grow with this team that is willing to focus on the Northern Classics. My other challenge for next year will be to learn French and perhaps it will be harder than the cycling part."
Enger recently finished 3rd in the 16th stage of the Tour de France and earlier this year he was second in the Tour de Picardie.
"He has just completed his first Tour de France, being the youngest rider at the event," manager Vincent Lavnu said. "In Bern, he was close to the victory (3rd). He is an incredible talent. He is new in cycling and I think he has a big room for improvement. He is an unusual boy who is also interested in painting and music."
With Sondre Holst Enger, Norway is the 28th nation to have had riders in the AG2R La Mondiale team.
In addition to Enger and Frank, Ag2r have signed Rudy Barbier ( 23, Roubaix Lille Metropole) , Oliver Nasen (25 years, IAM Cycling) and Stijn Vandenbergh (32 Etixx Quick-Step) and Mathias Frank (29 years, IAM Cycling).
Moreover, Samuel Dumoulin, Axel Domont, Hubert Dupont, Mikael Cherel and Jan Bakelants have extended their commitment for two years.
