While being a little less brilliant than in the Vosges, Team AG2R-LA Mondiale keep leading the way in the team classification and remain one of the most successful team in the race at this stage.
In Chamrousse, the French outfit led by Vincent Lavenu retained the white jersey, still on the back of Romain Bardet, while their two leaders feature among the Top 10, Bardet in third place and Jean-Christophe Peraud in 6th.
While both struggled a little in the last climb of stage 13, they amply limited the damage.
"I think everybody got a little knocked down by the last climb. And eventually I took the third place in the GC so I limited the damage pretty well, " said Romain Bardet to letour.fr. He insists he prefers the day's stage to Risoul while waiting for even better days in the Pyrenees.
Peraud also suffered badly from the heat but riders will keep adapting to the conditions with each day and the 37-year-old veteran can hope to recover fast.
AG2R already have a stage under then their belt thanks to Blel Kadri, winner in Gerardmer and who shone again in the beginning of stage 13. But the team's third man could well be from now on Luxembourg's Ben Gastauer, who finished a promising 18th in Chamrousse and moved to 28th in the GC. Not too bad for a first Tour de France.
