Silvan Dillier of the BMC Racing Team was part of a late breakaway Sunday at GP Ouest-France-Plouay that was only caught in the final kilometers.

Dillier and six others were in an attack that went away with 30 kilometers to go in the 229.1-km race. But with little cooperation among the escapees, Dillier and Alexey Lutsenko (Astana Pro Team) ventured off alone. The pair enjoyed as much as a 25-second lead before being overtaken by a group that included BMC Racing Team's Greg Van Avermaet.

Van Avermaet tried his own attack just outside of the one-kilometer-to-go banner. But the peloton brought him back and Alexander Kristoff (Katusha Team) took the win ahead of Simone Ponzi (Southeast) and Ramunas Navardauskas (Team Cannondale-Garmin).
