By being in the two main breakaways of stage 19, Nicolas Edet again proved to be the most visible Cofidis rider in this year's Tour de France.
"The sensations were good. On the first climb, I was in front but the favorites attacked right away. After the descent of the Col du Chaussy, I came back to the break but it was brought back on the Col de la Croix de Fer. I gave everything, I have no regrets," he said.
"Rolland surprised everyone because it was still far from the finish. I was not quite on top to react. Later the yellow jersey group returned safe. I never thought that the favourites would attack so early. I tried to hang on and then I gauged my effort.
"This morning I was hoping to play the stage win but there are only forty riders in front of me in the end. It's still fun to be at the front after all the complicated days I had.
"Tomorrow is gonna be hard like today. There is no climb from the start but it be fast and there will surely be a big fight between the favorites. L'Alpe d'Huez, I've never done that climb. That must be a nice ascent. We'll see what I can do based on the race and my feelings."
