Valerio Agnoli(Astana) is already preparing for 2014. He told spaziociclismo.it that he's already start training for about a week.
This season Agnoli attended a lot of races, from Tour Down Under to Tour of Beijing, mostly as a loyal servant for Nibali. Agnoli's season is accompanied by the Astana leader's success, including Tirreno-Adriatico and Giro d'Italia, both won by Nibali.
Next season Nibali will challenge the Tour once again. We'll likely see Agnoli in the race, too. "I've never raced the Tour. I've only seen it in TV and it would be a dream [to compete in the race]." says Agnoli, "I would go there to do well and help Vicenzo to win". In 2012 the Astana leader got a 3rd place, and Nibali will be a big favorite in next year's race, along with the likes of Froome and Contador.
"It'll be a good tour with Sky and many other [good] teams, it will be quite a challange." As Astana team recruited some new strong riders, like former Giro winner Scarponi and Basque hopeful Landa, alongwith Italian talent Aru, "We should not forget the Giro because there are guys that can do well too." comments Agnoli.
Agnoli is quite interested in Milano-San Remo as well, which will change its route significantly next year, inserting a climb between Cipressa and Poggio. "I went to climb Cipressa and Poggio often and lately I've also tried new climb." On the climb, Agnoli adds, "Approached after 230 km I think that [climb] will hurt and sprinters who succeeded on the hills to hang onto the top group will find it difficult next year because surely the climbs will be addressed very strong." Which, in Agnoli's mind, raises the possibility that Nibali wins the race.
