Valerio Agnoli of Astana is showing good form ahead of the Vuelta a Espana. Agnoli, who was coming fresh off from Tour of Denmark, finished fifth on the stage. The 4th stage was won by Lloyd Mondory of AG2R ahead of Vicente Reynes.
The 5th place on today’s stage also consolidates his fifth place in the overall GC. Agnoli arrived to Vuelta a Burgos from Denmark where he finished 8th in the final GC.
“We set a high pace at the end to keep the sprinters out of the finale – the team is very motivated to get a good GC place here,“ he said to the Astana website.
Agnoli finished in with the leaders, and together with teammates Janez Brajkovic and Paolo Tiralongo add up to a trio of Top-10 GC riders from Astana Pro Team
Sunday’s goal is to send one rider up for victory and work the available option as the day unfolds – each rider is ready, as a squad they work together smart and on Sunday a great team effort can be expected.
