Andrey Amador (Movistar Team) smiles again and is relieved after he was treated on Thursday to out an end to his tooth pain.
"I killed the nerve," he told BiciCiclismo this morning in the Movistar Team hotel in Palma de Mallorca after suffered through his debut yesterday in the Challenge Ciclista de Mallorca. "I was eliminated," he says.
"I'm perfect," he says now and in fact will not miss today's Trofeo Pollença-Andratx. On Monday, he will again visit the dentist.
His pain began in Costa Rica, "two days before" he had to fly to Spain for the official presentation of Team Movistar on Wednesday. In his home country, they decided not to intervene because there was no time between the travelling and the commitments.
Amador said yesterday on his website that he suffered from "a strong toothache which affected him physically and mentally."
Tour du Haut-Var, Strade Bianche, Tirreno-Adriatico, E3 Harelbeke, Gent-Wevelgem, Tour of Flanders and the Giro d'Italia are his next races. In the Giro, he will support Alejandro Valverde after being fourth last year and winning a stage in 2012.
