The magical and unforgettable Giro d'Italia is still fresh in his memory and Andrey Amador now trains with the firm intention of returning to the Corsa Rosa in 2016.
After the first gathering with Movistar Team, the Costa Rican has ended the holiday he has enjoyed since October 5.
In an interview with La Nacion, Amadro has revealed that he already has a rough idea about his racing schedule in the first part of his eighth season as a professional cyclist.
He is extremely motivated as he plans to return to the race in which he finished a historic and heroic fourth in 2015.
”We decided not to go to the Tour de San Luis in Argentina. I will start the year in Mallorca. I will ride the Strade Biache, Tirreno-Adriatico, the cobbled classics. Then I will take a break and do the Giro d'Italia,” he said.
As always, the race schedule is subject to change at any time.
"I'm going slowly and have also started with the preparation in the gym. I will be back in Costa Rica on December 1 and then I will be training fully,” he said.
Unlike this year when Amador was part of a team without a clear leader in the Italian race, the telephone squad has already announced that Alejandro Valverde will do his first Giro in 2016.
For Amador, it will be his fifth Corsa Rosa (2010, 2012, 2014 and 2015). He has also done the Tour de France (2011 and 2013) and the Vuelta a Espana (2014 and 2015).
