Christopher Horner’s agent Baden Cooke claimed that there’s a little chance for the 43-year old rider to stay in Europe for the next season after Lampre-Merida had confirmed they wouldn’t extend his contract. It appears, however, that the former Australian pro cyclist is given a hard time while negotiating with American second and third division outfits, as two of them have already refused to sign the veteran for 2015.

Reportedly, both Jelly Belly and Jamis-Hagens Bergman teams confirmed to Cyclingnews on Wednesday that they’re not interested in adding Horner to their rosters for the next season.

Manager of the former squad emphasized that in their case there were no negotiations with the 43-year old former Vuelta a Espana winner, as their budged certainly wouldn’t allow to meet his financial expectations.

Even though Horner was in the similar situation last year and didn’t sign a contract before the end of December, this time his future in professional cycling becomes increasingly doubtful as weeks are passing by.
