Androni Sidermec has the fighting spirit in its DNA and is always on the attack. For the fifth consecutive stage, the team led by Gianni Savio and Giovanni Ellena had a rider in the break at the Giro d'Italia.
This time the protagonist was Marco Bandiera - also winner of an intermediate sprint - that was part of a 5-rider move. The break was caught with 15km to go before André Greipel won the sprint. Here Androni were again in the mix as Davide Appollonio sprinted to 10th.
