After seven consecutive stages in which at least one Androni rider had been in the break, the string come to an end for the Italian team in today's 9th stage of the Giro d'Italia.
Gianfranco Zilioli actually tried to extend the record by attacking in the hills of Benevento, but his attempt was brought bacl. The unfortunate rider could see the next break get clear and one of its riders - Paolo Tiralongo - emerged as the winner at the finish in San Giorgio del Sannio.
