This time it was Lieuwe Westra who broke the law, but fortunately any doping violations weren’t involved this time around. Instead, the 32-year old Dutchman was caught on radar by the police in northern part of the Netherlands, driving 189 kilometers per hour.
“It is what it is,” Westra was kind enough to state the obvious fact, according to Dutch Leeuwarder Courant website. “I just drove too fast.”
Westra, who currently attends the Saitama Criterium held by the Tour de France organizers, didn’t lose his drivers license but has to pay a fine of 960 euros.
