Etixx - Quick-Step rider Yves Lampaert finished Ster ZLM Toer Jan van Heeswijk in 2nd overall after earning 9th in the final, 183.1km Stage 4 of the race on Sunday.
The parcours seemed to lean toward a bunch arrival, but Matthew Brammeier (Team MTN - Qhubeka) surprised the peloton and won solo by 25 seconds. Andre Greipel (Lotto Soudal) was 2nd, and Greg Henderson (Lotto Soudal) was 3rd. Greipel won the overall by 16" over Lampaert.
Nikolas Maes was also part of a breakaway earlier in the stage, but Jasper Asselman (Team Roompot Oranje Peloton) attacked out of that group and had a 17" advantage over the chasers inside 40km to go. The race eventually came back together, but it was Brammeier's attack that would be the winning action.
Lampaert earned his 2nd place overall by constantly being a presence in the actions throughout the stage race. He also earned a 2nd place finish in the 3rd Stage.
