By only four seconds Sonny Colbrelli missed the second victory at the Tour du Limousin. Today the Italian rider won the group sprint but was beaten by the early breakaway.

Colbrelli crossed the line four seconds behind them in 10th position. Thanks to the work of the Bardiani, Colbrelli won the first intermediate sprint after 40km, scoring three important seconds in the general classification.

”Our guys put all on the road and we have no regrets. We managed the peloton since the start because we wanted to bring Colbrelli to the first intermediate sprint and we did it. Then a large breakaway pulled away and it was not easy to close the gap in the finale due to narrow roads that were all up or down. We missed the goal by only four seconds. It’s a pity because Colbrelli proved again to the fastest rider. Tomorrow we have the final stage, we aim to win and maybe bring home the general classification,” sports director Mirko Rossato said.
