For the second day in a row Lluis Mas was part of the early break in the Volta a Catalunya and worked hard to extend his lead in the sprints competition. Sergio Pardilla was the best rider for Caja Rural as he reached the finish in the first big group. In the general classification David Arroyo and Sergio Pardilla are 2:46 behind leader Pierre Rolland.

"In this stage, we were lucky that there was no rain, but there was a lot of wind all day," Mas said. "Luckily I managed to get into the right break and I scored valuable points. The team is fine, Arroyo was with the best almost to the end, so in the fourth stage he should be with them. We have to see if I can win this jersey."
