Igor Anton will make his debut at the Tour de San Luis in January. The Basque has announced that he will do five stage races in the first few months of the 2015 season, according to a report from Biciciclismo.
Igor Anton's schedule in the second year as Movistar rider will start at the Tour de San Luis before he races the Spanish Vuelta a Murcia, Clasica Almeria and the Vuelta a Andalucia. He will then do his first WorldTour race at Tirreno-Adriatico before he heads home for the Vuelta al Pais Vasco and the Klasika Primavera. His spring season ends at the Giro del Trentino as the Ardennes classics are not on his schedule.
His participation in the Giro d'Italia will depend on his performance in the first months and he also wants to earn a spot on the roster for the Vuelta a Espana.
San Luis, Tirreno, Pais Vasco and Trentino all offers summit finishes that could suit the Basque climber who may be targeting a stage win in those races.
At 31 years of age, Anton will start his 11th season as a professional, the second under the command of Eusebio Unzué at Movistar after nine years at Euskaltel-Euskadi, and he hopes to regain the level of previous years. His last win was in 2011 when he won on the Monte Zoncolan in the Giro d'Italia and the stage to Bilbao in the Vuelta a Espana. In 2014, she supported Nairo Quintana in the Giro and showed flashes of form in Trentino, the Criterium du Dauphiné and the Klasika Ordizia.
