Igor Anton will go to the Giro d'Italia with Team Dimension Data and is pleased with his schedule for 2016.
He has confirmed to BiciCiclismo that he will do the following race: Challenge of Mallorca, Vuelta a Andalucia, Volta a Catalunya, Tour of the Basque Country, Fleche Wallonne, Liege-Bastogne-Liege, Tour of Yorkshire and the Giro d'Italia.
The Basque climber who turns 33 in March, has done four editions of the Giro: 2005 (83rd), 2011 (18th), 2014 (37th) and 2015 (38th). In 2011 he won the Zoncolan stage ahead of Contador, Nibali, Scarponi and Menchov and in 2014 he accompanied Nairo Quintana during his winning ride. He will also return to the Ardennes where he has been fourth, fifth, eighth and seventh in Fleche Wallonne while he has a 12th lace in Liege. The novelty for him will be the Tour of Yorkshire in Britain.
In the second part of the season, he is likely to do the Vuelta a Espana, but it depends on how things go in his first months with Dimension Data Team after two years at the Movistar Team (2014-2015) and nine at Euskaltel-Euskadi (2005-2013).
