Antwerp will host the Belgian cycling championships in two years. In 2020 the city will host the cyclo-cross championships.
It is not the first time that Antwerp will host the event. In 2006 the race took place in the city. Niko Eeckhout became a suprise winner when he beat Philippe Gilbert and Tom Boonen.
Next year Preben Van Hecke will defend his national tricolor on a cours around Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure, south of Charleroi. In 2018 the race will take place in Binche. Then Ghent will host the race in 2019 while Halle-Ingooigem will be the scene of the 2020 event.
In 2011 Sint-Annastrand hosted the cyclocross championships. Niels Albert took the only national title in his career by beating Bart Wellens and Kevin Pauwels.
Next year Lille, the home of Wout van Aert, will host the Belgian championships. Ostend (2017) and Koksijde (2018) will be the next hosts.
