Immediately after the rest day the riders get a stage which is almost completely flat of nearly 200 kilometres between Civitanova Marche and Forlì. After sprint victories for Viviani and Greipel, today is probably a new opportunity for the fast guys. That’s also what Lotto Soudal's Sander Armée thinks.
“It’s one of the flattest stages of this Giro," he said. "I think everybody in the peloton knows that the chance of a bunch sprint is really big. One has to let a small group for, don’t let them get too big an advantage, depending on the wind, and all teams who aim for the stage win, have to put a guy on the front. For Lotto Soudal that will probably be me. There’s often an agreement between those teams to chase the breakaway of the day.”
