Julian Arredondo has had some extra work to do in Alfas del Pi where his Trek Factory Racing team has been gathered since last week. The Colombian conducted various tests to have a better position on the bike and especially correct his errors.
Julian Arredondo wants to take another step forward and continue his improvement. Hence, he has been in the hands of the technicians who have tested the Trek rider's position. The Colombian who is 1.64m tall and has a weight of 58kg, has undergone several tests at both the horel and the Luis Puig Velodrome in Valencia.
"We have analyzed the position on the bike," he tells Biciciclicmo. "I felt very uncomfortable and made many errors. I failed in some aspects. We have done some tests and we have also visited the velodrome in Valencia."
The Colombian did not feel at ease and has worked on both his road bike and time trial positions. The tests seems to bear fruit and Arredondo is very optimistic. "I have suffered a lot on the time trial bike. I lost a lot of time because I felt very uncomfortable," he says. "Now I feel pretty comfortable and much better," he says.
Arredondo has also had time to reflect on his schedule for the new season. The Colombian will start in the Tour Oman to try to be at his best level for three events: Tirreno-Adriatico, the Vuelta al Pais Vasco and the Ardennes classics. The Tour de France will be his main goal and he will try to win a stage and the mountains jersey in the French grand tour.
In his first year at the WorldTour level - previously he rode for Nippo for two years - Arredondo was one of the sensations and put the icing on the cake in the Giro d'Italia where he won the mountains jersey and a big mountain stage. Before that, he finished fifth in Tirreno-Adriatico and played a big role in the Ardennes classics.
