The Kazakh Cycling Federation may have suspended the Continental Team Astana but one of the team riders is still riding competitively. Yesterday he was part of the Kazakh team at the track World Cup in London
Yesterday Nikita Panassenko was a surprise participant in the track World Cup in London. Last week his team Continental Team Astana was suspended by the Kazakh Cycling Federation. Nonetheless, the same federation has decided to select the Kazakh for the English event.
Since July 11, the 22-year-old Kazakh has been riding for the Continental Team Astana and combines a road schedule with the track. His teammates Ilya Davidenok, Viktor Okishev and Artoer Fedosseyev have all tested positive for anabolic steroids this season and subsequently the Kazakh Cycling Federation decided to suspend all activities of the team. Nonetheless, Panassenko has been allowed to ride, albeit in the colours of the Kazakh National Team.
