"The first 50km was very fast - I tried to go in the breakaway and nobody could get away."

Those were the words of Astana's Daniil Fominykh after stage five at the Tour de Langkawi. Fominykh stayed with his teammates to protect sprinter Andrea Guardini as nine riders escaped to create a gap of more than 18 minutes in the longest stage of the 2015 Tour de Langkawi.

The breakaway rode to the finish, and Guardini arrived safely with the main bunch, 13 minutes behind stage winner Joon Yong Seo of Korea .
