"The road was slippery on one of the turns, and I lost track of the speed a little bit."
Those were the words of Astana's Arman Kamyshev after stage two at the Tour of Turkey. Kamyshev fell mid-stage, but avoided injury and quickly returned to the main peloton, where he finished in the same time as stage winner Mark Cavendish of Great Britain.
A light crosswind during the stage was not strong enough to break up the group, and stage two finished in a mass sprint. Astana Pro Team riders all finished in the main peloton at the end of the long but mostly controlled stage up the Turkish seacoast.
Stage three finishes in the mountains in Elmaly province, 1800m above sea level and will be the first decisive day of the 2015 Tour of Turkey. Astana will look to captains Valerio Agnoli and Miguel Angel Lopez to shine.
