Astana Pro Team has announced that it has reached an agreement with 25-year-old Kazakh rider Nikita Stalnov who arrives from the Astana City continental team.

In 2016 Stalnov took some noticeable results like third place in the general classification of the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, Tour d’Azerbaïdjan and Tour of Ukraine as well as in the individual time trial at the Kazakhstan National Championships.

Among his best results could be named stage victories at the Vuelta Independencia Nacional in 2010 and La Tropicale Amissa Bongo in 2012. He has won the king of mountain jersey at the Tour of Bulgaria (2012) and the East Bohemia Tour (2015).

"Nikita is a young and progressing rider. He achieved some good results during the last season, and we hope that in our team he will grow up as a good professional rider who could provide a strong support to our leaders," explained general manager Alexandr Vinokurov.
