Yesterday Darwin Atapuma's Tour de France participation was in doubt after the Colombian had had difficulty getting a visa for the Grand Depart in England. However, his passport will be sent from Bogota to Italy today and the Colombian is almost guaranteed to be at the start in Leeds on Saturday.

After the much debate concerning visa problems for the Giro d'Italia start in Nothern Ireland, the issue came up again yesterday when it came out that BMC rider Darwin Atapuma could miss the Tour de France due to administrative issues. Luckily, the issue has now been resvolved and Atapuma may fly from Italy to England later today.

Until now, his passport has been at the Spanish embassy in Bogota but it has now been sent to Italy where it should arrive at 14.00 today, El Mundo Ciclistico reports. All administrative procedures are now in place and if everyhing goes to plan Atapuma will be one of three Colombians at the start in Leeds on Saturday
