The newly crowned national U23 ITT and road champion became only fourth Australian to complete such double, but Miles Scotson refuses to slow down, targeting upcoming Track World Championships in France instead. What's next for the daring 20-year old? He aims to follow footsteps of his slightly older compatriots and return from Richmond with yet another gold medal for Australia in individual time trial.

"This is great but I won’t be easing up all. I'll be just as determined for the worlds now, " Scotson said, according to Cyclingnews. 

Like most of his countrymen, Scotson originates from the track and has a junior team pursuit world championship title in his palmares.

Despite being only 20-year old, he has already had a chance to find out what road racing in Europe tastes like, completing a full season last year as a part of Jayco-AIS World Tour Academy Team and being selected for the Commonwealth Games. Not being pleased with his performance in the latter even, the 20-year still praised it for experience he gained. 

"I went over to Europe and for the first time I was going really strong on the road. Commonwealth Games selection was a really big thing for me and a really big jump as a year before I didn't think I'd make the Games team," he said. 

"I was disappointed with my form going in it. I did work hard but it just didn't come together. I took three weeks of the bike and I just kept working hard and building, building, and building for this. The motivation has been really high and I am motivated for the track Worlds."

Thinking of his career in a longer perspective, Scotson made the 2016 Orympic Games in Rio his biggest objective, along with U23 World Championships in Richmond. He is aware though, that when it comes to racing on the track, gaining a spot in the Australian national team would be more difficult than sweeping all the competition away on the road, just like he did last Saturday.

"I'd love to target the Olympics and there are heaps of really strong guys for that but I hopefully I just keep making the right progression and see what happens," he said.

"I'd like to earn selection for the worlds time trial," he said. "I'll see if I go over to Europe again this year. I'd love to concentrate on that a bit.

"That would be a great experience. That would be one of my bigger goals for the year and follow in the footsteps of Campbell Flakemore from last year."
