BMC Racing Team's Greg Van Avermaet held onto his fourth place overall Wednesday at the Tour of Qatar as Alexander Kristoff (Team Katusha) won his second stage in four days.

Van Avermaet finished 16th as Niki Terpstra (Etixx-Quick Step) kept the overall lead with two days of the race to go. Van Avermaet is 19 seconds off the lead.

BMC Racing Team's Jempy Drucker was in position to contest the sprint in the final kilometer but was nearly knocked off his BMC after another rider bumped him.

"Everything went so fast and I got pushed into another wheel," he said. "So I hit the man in front me in his backwheel. My foot came out of my pedal. Everything went so fast that I just tried to stay on the bike. But the race was over.

"I am feeling good. I only miss a bit of luck. In the first two stages I was also up there but in the important moments I missed a bit of luck. The positive thing is that my shape is good, the legs are good. That's the most important but I am also here to do results so I will try to keep it up the next days."
