Young Slovenian classics specialist Luka Pibernik has signed to be part of the new BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team colors in the 2017 season.
At age 23, the young professional cyclist turned pro two years ago. During the past two years he’s gained extensive experience and demonstrated that he has huge potential.
Based on this track record and his professional potential, BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team signed him as a new and promising talent for the great classics . Prior to joining a pro team Pibernik had many top ten placings in Under-23 Road Races. Both in 2013 and 2015 he was National Champion. Pibernik made his debut in the Tour De France earlier this year.
After signing the contract with BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team he said: ”I’m really happy to become a part of this huge project. I hope to satisfy the high expectations of the team. I will do my very best to help the team. I hope that we as a team will achieve the goals we’ve set out for the coming season.”
