Jan Bakelants got agonizingly close to his first win for AGr2 when he finished second in the fourth stage of the Tour de Romandie.
"With the rain and cold, it was a day that separated the men from the boys," he said. "It was a good break with six riders but the presence of Kotchetkov, who was well placed overall, prevented us from getting a bigger gap. In the final, Küng was strong. 147km to gain 20 seconds on GC makes it a bit annoying. Tomorrow is a step for climbers. It will be the day of Jicé (Péraud) and Romain (Bardet)."
After thirty-three days of racing, Jan Bakelants has eight places in the top ten, two top-five and a podium.
