Bardiani-CSF has now reached one of his first goals of the season after receiving a RCS wild card for the Giro d'Italia, Milan-San Remo and Tirreno-Adriatico. The official announcement was warmly welcomed by the #GreenTeam that, from tomorrow, will focus on the preparation for the Giro and the two other UCI WorldTour races.
"For the team and the sponsors, it is the recognition of the good work and seriousness we have always tried to show," said team manager Roberto Reverberi. "The Tour of Italy is the most important event of our season, but the ambition is to be a leader in all races, Milan-San Remo in the first place. We will repay the trust of RCS, and we thank them, facing each test with the best of our ability and with the spirit that has always distinguished us. "
Since its inception in 2013, Bardiani-CSF has always got a wild card for the RCS races. In the three years of activity, they have obtained five stage wins in the Tour of Italy (Battaglin in 2013, Pirazzi, Battaglin and Canola in 2014, Boem in 2015) and the mountains jersey with Pirazzi in 2013. The latter has also won the same jersey in Tirreno-Adriatico.
Finally, Colbrelli was sixth in the 2014 Milan-San Remo and the team has many top 10 placings in the stages of the Giro and the Race of Two Seas.
