Bardiani-CSF Pro Cycling team has announced its first new rider for the 2017 season, Marco Maronese. Born in 1994 in Treviso’s province, Maronese will become a professional rider wearing the #GreenTeam jersey from January 2017.
During the four seasons spent in the Under 23 category, riding for teams Zalf-Euromobil-Désirée-Fior (2015 and 2016), Delio Gallina (2014) and MG.K Vis-Norda (2013), Maronese has taken 14 successes and five during the 2016 season (Memorial Polese, Coppa Bericetto, Memorial Valentini, Circuito del Porto and Trofeo Fumagalli). In 2015 he won the Venetian regional championship and he has leven successes in Junior category.
“I’m really happy for this opportunity and grateful to Bardiani-CSF,” said Maronese. “After the 2015 season Bruno Reverberi told me about the desire to sign me. Together we decided to wait another year so I had the chance to be ready for the transition to professional cycling without any pressure. I have important expectations for my future, but my priority is to work hard and pay back the trust of the team. And, of course, I want to end this season in the best way - winning again for my team which I owe a lot, and deserving a call from the Italian team for the Qatar World Championships."
“Maronese is a talent that convinced us not because of the wins he achieved but, most importantly, for the constant development he showed as an athlete,” said Reverberi. “He improved his endurance in hard races, a key factor to become a pro rider, and he has the right mentality to make the transition. He is a fast rider and will be very useful serving our cause. We’re pleased that he decided to start his career among the pros with our team”.
