It is the first World Tour season event for Bardiani – CSF Pro Team when they line up at Tirreno-Adriatico as the only Italian pro continental team.
Managers Roberto and Bruno Reverberi have selected a well balanced team that can be competitive in the different type of stages. Nicola Ruffoni will be there for the bunch sprints and Sonny Colbrelli, Enrico Battaglin and Enrico Barbin for the hilly stages and the team also includes a strong rouleur in Nicola Boem and climbers Manuel Bongiorno, Edoardo Zardini and especially Stefano Pirazzi who had a fast recovery after his Strade Bianche crash.
”For us this is a really important event in this first part of 2015," Roberto Reverberi said. "Tirreno – Adriatico has become the most prestigious and followed short stage race. We have selected a team with good experience and skills to shine in every stage. We believe that the talents of our young guys can be a boost to the battle between the best riders in the world.
"Looking at the individual athletes, we’re very happy that Pirazzi can be at the start. Already Sunday he felt better, today he went out with his bike and he didn’t feel any pain. Maybe he willl suffer a bit in the first stages but we hope he’ll do a good performance when the mountains arrive."
”Of course I would prefer to be at the start with a perfect condition but after Saturday's crash and the initial fear due to a big pain, I’m happy," Pirazzi said. "In fact after subsequent checks there was only a small injury to the right knee. Today I trained for some hours and all seemed okay. I’ll use the first stages to recover in a perfect way and then get ready for the most demanding days."
