Bardiani-CSF Pro Team has had a long transfer to Malaysia where the will do the Tour de Langkawi with six riders from the 8th to the 15th of March.
The event will be an opportunity for youngest riders of the green team to shine and chase daily success. Paolo Simion who has recovered from the crash in Dubai Tour’s last stage and the injury of his left shoulder, is on the roster.
”The goal in this race is to give the opportunity to our youngest riders to make an international experience and the space to do their own race," sports director Mirko Rossato said. "In Malaysia they will find a good level with four WorldTour teams, included Team Sky and Tinkoff – Saxo, and seven Pro-Continental teams. The stages are suitable for sprinters but we’ll also find some hilly stages and of course the traditional finish on Genting Highlands, the top of a steep climb. With our neo-pros we will try to upset the strategies of the biggest squads, attacking where we find the right roads. I’m confident that we can achieve several good results."
”The recovery from the injury went really well and already last week I had the possibility to train with a good intensity," Simion said. "Of course I won’t be at the top of my shape but I’m looking to improve day by day and maybe try to sprint in one of the the last stages."
