In 2014, Jens Debusschere made a name for himself when he became a surprise winner of the Belgian road race championships. Now the Belgian champion has set his sights on the Tour de France and the spring classics.

Last year Jens Debusschere won the Belgian Championships road race in Wielsbeke. "In 2015, I want to show the jersey as much as possible. I want to be in the mix as much as possible.

"First and foremost in the classics, but also in other races. It is not that I will compete for the victory in the Tour of Flanders or something like that. For that, I do not have the level of Jürgen Roelandts. But in Dwars door Vlaanderen and other smaller spring races, I shoud have a chance.

"My goal for the classics is to help Jurgen to win one of those monuments. This would be his first major classic. He's been close a few times. I hope to do my part."

Secretly he also dreams of a debut in the Tour de France. After Roelandts has decided to focus on the classics, André Greipel's sprint train will have a different composition which could offer a chance.

"I realize that the spots are hard to get. It's still far away, but I hope to be there. I've been part of André's train a few times. With a good preparation, I can hold my own."
