Baptiste Planckaert continued what has been an outstanding start to the year when he finished on the podium in today's Cholet Pays de Loire.
"I did not have good legs at the start of the race but I still managed to join the right move," he told Directvelo. After the feed zone, I found a good feeling. But Pierrick Fedrigo was too strong. He dropped everyone 20 kilometers from the finish. We were four riders in the chase group but we quickly realized that it would be difficult to get back. Furthermore, we began to look at each other ... It was impossible to get back.
"I was empty in the sprint. I don't care whether I am 2nd or 3rd. I just wanted to be on the podium. I'm happy to be third because the Coupe de France is important for Roubaix-Lille Métropole."
