As expected, the final evening of the 105th Berlin Six Days did little to alter the general classification. Try as they might, Roger Kluge/Marcel Kalz and Yoeri Havik/Nick Stöpler were unable to bridge the gap to Kenny de Ketele and Moreno de Pauw.
The German duo did gain back a lap in the decisive Madison but that only served to cut the Belgians’ lead in half and de Ketele/de Pauw had everything under control and emerged as deserved victors courtesy of a powerful display of strength on the penultimate day when tactics between their main rivals also proved decisive.
With the win in Berlin de Ketele and de Pauw take their tally to two wins this season after winning the Six Days in London in October 2015. In addition, de Ketele also won the Bremen Six Days together with German Christian Grassman. The Belgian duo will be looking to add another victory as the Copenhagen Six Days kicks off tomorrow.
