The Belkin Pro Cycling team wants to take its 30th victory of the season in the Tour of Hainan (20 - 28 October). At the moment the team has bagged 28 wins.
Sports Director Michiel Elijzen feels that the goal is realistic:
"The Tour of Hainan is a new stage race for us," said Elijzen. "It was an eventful year. We hope to reach the 30 wins,” he said to Belkin’s webpage.
Elijzen fields a strong and motivated team in the Tour of Hainan, starting this Sunday:
"With Theo Bos, we have a rider who has a good chance to sprint to the win. Moreno Hofland and Lars Boom are good finishers, as well. Marc Goos is our man for the GC, as there are two somewhat tougher stages. We have nine chances and I am optimistic about getting some victories.”
Moreno Hofland
Moreno Hofland ended the Tour of Beijing with a third place in the final stage. It showed he feels strong at the moment. The neo-pro wants to end his already good season in style.
"My third place in Beijing really gave me a great morale boost. It was my first podium finish in a WorldTour-level race. It gave me a very good feeling,” Goos explained. “Maybe in Hainan, I can try to take my first professional victory."
