BORA – ARGON 18 scored another podium result in the final stage of the Tour of Bavaria. After Sam Bennett, sprint captain of the German team, already won the first and the third stage, he sprinted to third place today.
Time trial specialist Jan Barta took the third rank at yesterday's ITT and he also occupied that spot in the overall standings. The 30-year-old Czech, already third in the 2013 edition of the Tour of Bavaria, was able to defend this result unchallenged today. For BORA – ARGON 18 and title sponsor BORA, both located in Upper Bavaria, an extremely successful home tour comes to an end.
"If we had said beforehand, that we wpuld win two stages, stand on the podium twice and then are also third overall, we would have been very optimistic. Now it is a fact, and the riders are very proud of what they have achieved. This is the most successful Tour of Bavaria in the team’s history. And that we scored these results especially in our home tour, of course is a wonderful thing”, concludes Sport Director Enrico Poitschke.
